About the Project
Thrivent is in the early stages of developing a master plan that will guide the long-term development of its 600-acre campus located in Appleton between Ballard Road and Meade Street, north of I-41. The planning process will create a framework to guide development of the land over the next several decades.
We envision the development to be a place where the larger community in northeast Wisconsin can come together to live, work and play. Together with the City of Appleton and the larger community, we aim to create a vibrant space that fosters strong connections, promotes inclusivity, and enhances the well-being and quality of life for all residents.
Thrivent’s commitment to the Fox River Corridor has never been stronger. We look forward to continuing to call this home, at the heart of this future community.
On September 4, 2024, the City of Appleton Common Council granted approval of land use for the project. We are excited to advance the development of Thrivent’s 600-acre campus in collaboration with the City of Appleton. While there is more work to be done, this decision is an important step in bringing the Master Plan to life.

July 2024 Applications to City of Appleton and Updated Master Plan Thrivent is excited to continue working with the City of Appleton and the larger community to create a vibrant space fostering strong connections, promoting inclusivity, and enhancing the well-being and quality of life for all residents. After holding two community feedback meetings last year to inform and discuss the long-term development of Thrivent’s 600-acre campus, we’re now starting to submit applications for future land use, zoning and permitting. The Master Development Plan continues to represent and integrate ideas and feedback we received as a part of the community meetings. The proposed plans for the development currently include a full range of new housing choices, an employment center, active and passive recreation, dining and neighborhood shopping and services. More than a third of the site is planned to be restored and preserved as public parks, open space, waterways and a system of trails that will connect seamlessly with the larger community. Click on the image below to view the updated master plan. Thrivent has recently applied for zoning changes and an amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the City of Appleton Comprehensive Plan. These approvals are critical to realizing the mix of potential uses envisioned in the master plan. The City of Appleton Planning Commission provided a positive recommendation in their meeting on July 24. Please continue to visit this website for the latest updates regarding the development.
